Do you have a favourite season? As we enter into fall, I am reminded that it truly is my favourite time of year. Have you seen Miss Congeniality? Well, I always resonated with Miss Rhode Island. “I'd have to say April 25th because it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket." Well, my perfect date is Sepember 21st, because it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket. It's also usually Mabon, the Fall Equinox. I love the energy of the equinox's. For me, the fall equinox is the beginning to my "new year," not in January. Fall is my reset button. Equinox's in general are my jam. Both the fall and spring equinox's give me energy, while I feel like I need to rest during winter and summer (the solstice's.)
I also LOVE the smell of Fall. The smell of things starting to break down and decay. I know a lot of people don't like the smell, but I LOVE it. It brings me so much comfort. I love walking in the ravine or heavily wooded areas. I love the crunch of fallen leaves, the soft forest floor covered in pine needles, leaves, moss and dirt. The added moisture from the dew levels changing amplifies the smell. The air is cool and crisp in the mornings and by the afternoon, you get warm winds and quiet evenings. The drastic temperature change between night and day also helps to limit the amount of mosquitos, which I appreciate.
Fall also introduces spooky season! It's always spooky season in my house but I love when I see it everywhere! This is when I buy my home decor! I love watching scary movies and going to haunted houses. Walking through corn mazes and eating caramel apples. I LOVE candy corn. I know most people despise it, but I LOVE it. I go to bulk barn and load up on it. The pumpkin pie blizzard from dairy queen in the only blizzard I actually like. I wish it was all year round.
